Dawn Fallik is an associate professor at the University of Delaware. She teaches “Words for Nerds,” helping STEM students, faculty and professionals translate their research to the general public. She is also a medical and science writer with a background in data analysis who writes for The Wall Street Journal, NPR and The Washington Post.
She is part of a team of researchers who recently won a $1 million NSF grant to investigate illicit mining, and she will be traveling to India, China, Australia and Africa to interview people on mining practices and how they collect data on minerals such as cobalt and lithium.
