Elizabeth Toohey is an associate professor of English at the City University of New York, where she has taught journalism since 2013. She has published extensively in journals and anthologies on the influence of 9/11 in film and fiction, and as a book critic for the Christian Science Monitor. A 2020 Knight Visiting]Nieman Fellow, she is currently at work on a book on her experiences teaching journalism, titled 'Reporting from Queens: How Journalism Can Transform the Way We Teach Writing."
