Digitized materials make historical research more accessible. Those details, previously hidden even if just by geographic distance, can enrich a story narrative with contemporaneous context — everything from decades-old radio reports and video clips to text descriptions as granular as the color of someone's coat on a rainy Tuesday two hundred years ago.
